Surf Apnea™
Workshop

Practical preparation for surf hold-downs—and an embodied way to practise staying calm, clear and in control when it matters.

A course for water—and life

Meet pressure
with presence.

Sea Fit Therapy founder Heli Murray—an Apnea Survival Instructor and Ambassador—presents Surf Apnea™. Originally developed for surfers and water-based athletes, it is a practical, embodied learning and stress-management experience curated to open inner doors to insight and growth.

The workshop weaves together functional breathing education, an optional ice bath, and sequential land and water drills. The breath-hold journey becomes a place to develop confidence and deepen the mind–body–breath connection.

It is not simply about holding your breath for longer. It is about understanding what happens when discomfort rises—and learning how to remain resourceful enough to respond.

For surfers and water people

Charge bigger waves.
Come up calm.

For surfers wanting to charge bigger waves, ocean swimmers, and anyone carrying limiting fear around the water, the course centres practical preparation for the physical sensations and mental pressure of a surf hold-down.

  • Manage surf hold-downs calmly, confidently and safely
  • Prepare mentally and physically for bigger, wilder surf
  • Build confidence and comfort in your breath-hold
  • Practise calm recovery between waves and wipeouts
  • Enhance focus, efficiency and decision-making
  • Deepen your connection with your body and the ocean

What you will explore

in the body.

01

Understand stress

Recognise the difference between discomfort and genuine threat, and notice how stress shapes sensation, attention and action.

02

Breathe functionally

Explore breathing awareness, preparation and recovery practices that support calm, focus and effective recovery.

03

Build progressively

Move through sequential land and pool drills designed to develop skill and confidence without competition or bravado.

04

Respond with choice

Create space between the first stress reaction and your next action—whether you are underwater or meeting pressure in everyday life.

The workshop journey

From understanding
to experience.

Approximately six hours, moving from knowledge and preparation into progressive practice.
